For my game I have chosen to create a TARDIS flight simulator. I have chosen this because I am a fan of Doctor Who and there aren’t any Doctor Who games being made aside from “The Eternity Clock” and “The Adventure Games”. I chose the flight simulator genre because it is an under-saturated market and there aren’t many flight simulator games being sold recently on stores like Steam or Origin. The game begins with The Doctor being in a time crash and having to fly the TARDIS to safety, back to Earth. This will be a cutscene which will disguise the loading screen in order to make a seamless transition into the gameplay. Once the cutscene ends the camera will pan around and inside of The Doctor’s head, similar to how Goldeneye64 started levels.
Once the player takes control, they will have to run around the TARDIS, pressing buttons and pulling levers in the right order so that the TARDIS will fly and escape. Once the lever closest to the door has been pulled the camera will zoom out and show the TARDIS flying through the vortex as the player controls and manoeuvres it around asteroids and other hazards and enemies as the game progresses. The game will feature collectable items and a whole galaxy to explore, as well as enemies to fight by using a procedural generated universe, similar to No Man’s Sky, which makes it so that we can have a vast and variable universe but not actually do as much work because of it being randomised.
